Nintendo has closed its European Club Nintendo website after it said a potential phishing threat emerged. Nintendo has reassured customers their bank or address details are not stored on the website and cannot be taken.

In a statement the company said:

“The protection of our customers is our utmost priority and so we have taken the precaution of immediately shutting down some parts of this website until further notice.”

The US Club Nintendo website has up to now been unaffected.
